too bad it'll probably be $300 for the BASE version, and more if you actually want the hard drive and other extras.

Yes, the hard drive is optional. But if you want to play old XBox 1 games, you need the HD since some (most?) old XBox games were coded to use it.

As if the PS3 is going to be cheaper. Please. $300 is going to be the norm for console prices.

The amount they charge for games they would probably be better off giving the consoles away for free.

OK, maybe not but there would be a lot more console owners out there...
