I think awhile back a bar in town was accepting Canadian Tire money at face value in lieu of real cash for a Wednesday night Happy Hour.

But for all the non-Canadians here, we should let them know that the other name for Cdn Tire is Crappy Tire because a lot of the stuff they sell is just shoddy merchandise. If you look in the "Old Sayings" manual under "You get what you pay for" Crappy Tire is listed as the first example.
I still shop there a lot because the closest one is very convenient to go to but I'm very selective as to what I'll buy there.

Still they are good for tools for around the house and seasonal merchandise. Just dont go have your car fixed there other than for a simple oil change

As my friend's dad calls it

Ukranian Tire.

Personally, I think it's an insult to Ukranians everywhere to call it that. They make WAY better stuff in the Ukraine.

If it is an insult to Ukranians what the flying fuck is it to you (or me for that matter) to be REALLY named Canadian Tire?!

Fun fact: Canadian Tire sued to guy holding crappytire.com. The funny thing is not so they could shut it down, because that is what it is commonly known as in Canada so they wanted a URL redirectio to canadiantire.com. They lost their case!

Dam, it was Pete's Peanut Pub. The ALCB though was seding inspectors though after it hit the news. Trading booze for non-legal tender is considered the same as giving it away which is somewhat illegal

It was a good idea to boost business though hehe
