Especially the two proposition in Michigan that passed:Proposition 1 in Michigan is officially called the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act and would legalize marijuana for medical use in cases like cancer and glaucoma. Proposition 2 would allow embryonic stem cell research in the study of diseases. So glad to see most of the country wanted to get rid of this fucked up administration.

And I can't wait to hear how it is all Bush's fault if Obama's term isn't very good. It'll have nothing to do with his lack of experience, flawed ideals, vague plans, questionable friends, poor voting record, etc, etc.I hope he makes himself a great cabinet. I'm tired of hearing how Bush screwed us. I'm already enjoying the hypocrisy of my liberal friends saying that Obama is only one man and it won't be his fault if he fails. However, it was all Bush's fault! One man there, but not here. Please, give me a fucking break. We should get a crystal clear look of what he actually does have on his agenda because he has complete control of both chambers of Congress. Depending how the SC goes, he may have a great effect on that too. Hopefully the lack of a good campaign and torn party line will allow for the Republican party to reform in their four year break [if you will, since hardly any of them were re-elected] and come back strong next time. I imagine they'll have a lot to fix.

quote: Originally posted by RoGuEBiTcH: Yea, it'll be great to get some republicans back in office ASAP. I already miss their thinly veiled efforts towards middle-class and minority oppression. And our government is now sorely lacking a strong Christian influence to guide our policies on abortion, gay marriage, and even the middle east. It's just terrible; without these ancient superstitions, how can the administration possibly make intelligent decisions? Not to mention, we're all going to hell!Do yourself a favor and start voting democrat. You're not even in the income bracket that benefits from the republican party.
You brought your sense of humor to the party. How fun. I'm not a religious conservative. I could care less about the Middle East. As a member of the middle class, I don't think a tax-cut would be good for the economy. Taxing the rich more for being rich is hardly fair as well. So lets see.. 1) What middle-class/minority oppression do you speak of? Keeping illegals out? Seriously. I like everyone here, but if you're going to make a vague comment like this.. put some substance there. 2) You don't need to be Christian to break down gay marriage, abortion, or the Middle East. a)Gay Marriage is an oxymoron as marriage is an institution of "church and state," therefore making it impossible since 99.99% of churches do not agree with it. b)Abortion is a moral issue. You may or may not agree with me when I think life starts. The religious sort think you're taking life after conception [arguable even from a moral standpoint]. Pro-choice people think it isn't bad until the baby is born. The Republican party rallies largely behind the idea that conception +/- a few weeks is all you get [morning after pill is supported by some of them]. c)Are we supposed to ignore the massive amounts of hate directed at us from the Middle East? What about continual threats? Actual attacks? Anything? Would you rather sit still and take it? The war in Iraq wouldn't be nearly as bad if the administration (+ congress) put together a half-way decent exit strategy. It didn't matter who won - the exit strategy is fucked. And the infamous "but you don't make enough money" argument. Why are you a democrat? You won't qualify for all the neat government handouts that we're going to be paying for! It also wouldn't have mattered if Jesus Christ ran on the Republican ticket. The media sold out for Obama so hard it is pathetic. Denying that would just be more humor on your part.

I"M glad we have a different president and I hope he does the country well. I do think Bush has buried us quite a big hole and hopefully we will find our ways out.Personally, I really thought JohnM spoke really well. But what easily changed my mind was when I heard Sarah Palin talk. She started giving talks and sounded so damn retarded. all I could think was "She's the VP and JohnM is going to take advise from her? HELL NO" I wouldn't want my President seeking any advise from her whatsoever. I'm not saying she's super bad, but i KNOW there's a LOT better out there. my only gripe is sometimes how i feel about this subject matter -> what if another 911 occured? I really think JOhnM would hit that BIG RED button and launch some serious artillery. But OBama, on the otherhand, I really don't know anything about him, but he seems so damn nice. I dunno, i feel maybe he might be a pushover in this scenario, not to say he would just let the event go peacefully, but I don't particularly see him going out with GUNS BLAZING. and I kinda like the whole Americans go to war with everybody thing. I KNOW< STUPID. that's my gripe
chheers! btw, boeing is off strike. I hate to have to go to work again!! cheers!!!!!!!!! --------------------

Acid - No one is trying to tax the rich more just for being rich. Just trying to make it fair. http://rawstory.com/news/2007/NBC_Warren_Buffett_wants_more_taxes_1030.html quote: "The taxation system has tilted toward the rich and away from the middle class in the last 10 years," Buffett, the nation's third richest man, told Brokaw. Buffett said he did an informal survey of federal taxes paid by his own office staff, and the average was 32.9%, compared to his 17.7%.
