Yeah, I have an X800XL and I got that at COST for $300US (at the time, $350CDN).Because it's the Doom3 engine, a Geforce card is going to handle it better (better at opengl). The 6600GT would be a good choice, and probably runs the game better than a 9800 Pro. I'd dig around for some benchmarks using different mid-range cards and see. As for what's good mobo/cpu wise. . . it's hard to say. If you're a broad-minded buyer, the Intel 6x series procs overclock like crazy, then again, the AMD64 Venice cores aren't too shabby either. Motherboards for AMD are going to be slightly cheaper.
