20 20 ~ Var fick du denna översättningen? Den absolut korrekt, talar du Svenska?

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would be known as "EuroEnglish."

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".

Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favor of the "k:"

This should klear up konfusion and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replased with the "f."

This will make words like "fotograf" 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are
possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e"s in the language is disgraseful and they should go away.

By the 4th year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer combinations of leters.

After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi
tu understand ech ozer.

ZE DREM VIL FINALI KUM TRU!!!!!

And zen ve vil take over ze vorld!!!!

Things are fine, been keeping myself bussy with work and studies, really trying to get into programming classes etc. but still I'm forced to work at the same time so it's a time consuming project, but I've got some real ambitions to make a living in the IT fiel some day. I've simultaniously been studying Linux at home, as you might know.

Othervise I'm enjoying the warm spring and sunshine, yes I really can stand sunlight for upto 30 secs now a days!!

Sounds good, Lindi! How are you doing in Linux?

O
P.S. For anyone interested, Sun Microsystems is offering Solaris 8.0 for FREE! You can download it free, and the licensing is free as well, as long as you don't use more than four processors..... Or they will send you the software on CD for $75, and licensing is still free. Might be a worthwhile skill to learn, since you can test on Solaris and receive a certification. Which would help you land an admin job...

Hi O~! How's life?
Still working in the same job, but I've gotten a bigger pay-check and some more responsibilities
I had to lose my internet-connection at home last year, though, so at the time I'm only online when working...
I visited Florida and Georgia a couple of months back, you know...aren't you from Tampa or something? (I might be totally off, though...) I visited Tampa as well...

Well, I've messed around with the console a little, and also with the different WMs, liking the windowish feel of KDE2 so I've pretty much used that. Also did another rebuild of my web page using emacs and gimp. Finaly I also had this 'eureca' experience and got the mouse wheel working.

I think I should try to get q3 to work also, but I really haven't found the energy to start.

Q3 is the easy part...getting your nvidia driver to go was the bitch for me...which I finally got after sitting my ass down, saying "you aren't going to bed till this works" and 15 minutes later BAM!! It worked. I was sooo elated.

Yeah, Cy... but the latest version they had at work was 7.0! So I downloaded 8 last night, and will be farking around with it soon.

Hiya, Scoob!

Hey, Riv! Life is just fine, as I have a decent job in the 65K range, a beautiful and talented girlfriend, etc. etc. And yes, I live in Tampa....

Lindi~Sounds like you are gaining invaluable experience. Keep it up, and also play with some standard UNIX platforms as well. I happen to have an unregistered and licensable copy of SCO 5.05 available for you as well if you would like it.

Hiya Outtie! Long time no see....What have you been up to?

O~ Good to hear. If I'd had more time when I was over I would have loved to meet some of you guys. What freaked me out about Florida, though, was that it was almost impossible to get an internet-connection anywhere. Even in Tampa they only knew one place where I could rent a terminal (I don't remember what it was called anymore, though...). I din't think it would be that hard...?!?

O ~ Yes I am. I'm acctually quite satisfied with my self, it is still quite a slow process because, I've been trying not to sit infront of the computer at home (Keeping the sig O happy! ). I know that I will be doing way too much of that when I get the ADSL.

Thanks for the UNIX offer, but I think that my brain can't handel learning more than one totaly new OS at a time.
