I haven't posted in a couple weeks and wanted to remind everyone that the game is NEXT SUNDAY, 3PM PST/ 6 PM EST. I would actually prefer to slide this back to 4PM/7PM if that's OK with everyone, but 3/6 should be considered the "official" time until otherwise posted here. The game is Quake 2, and you should have the 3.20 patch from iD ( http://www.activisionvalue.com/Support/title_answer.asp?fid=195&gid=78 ) and the R1Q2 mod installed ( http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/r1q2/ ). Hopefully RoGuEBiTcH will post the server info here once he gets it.

I was forced into playing. Drako said he needed a witness to his gameplay. I said "You mean MURDER?!" he said no, he would wipe you all out in the first 5 mins... BUT thats just what i heard

Oh, did he tell you we all need to play the old way? Everyone has to be on dial-up

I just got the updates and gamespy up and running yesterday and it works great. Even my kids are wanting to "Frag" now

. I cant keep them off my pc LOL. Its like a new game to them. Who knows... Q2 comback?!

Oh, also, I'd like to volunteer the Quake2World IRC channel for people to use to coordinate the game this afternoon. Realtime chat *always* helps with these sorts of things.

The channel is #quetoo on irc.freenode.net. If you do not have an IRC client of choice, I recommend X-Chat for Windows, http://www.silverex.org/download/ .

Thanks for the IRC info RB. Is this just a text or can you actually talk? This is a new program to me. I use Ventrilo now days, so if this IRC dont work well then maybe we could try Vent.

IRC is text only. I hadn't thought of a voice chat solution, that could be cool. I don't know if Vent works on Linux, so I couldn't run it. I can use Teamspeak, tho.

I installed Q2 the other day but haven't had any time to play. If you guys are still playing I will join later on tonight. I normally do my gaming (WOW) after Marcus goes to bed. No not rvr he spells it Markus.

Hm, make sure you're connected to Freenode (irc.freenode.net). The channel name is #quetoo -- the # is part of the name, as an IRC convention.

You know what I did today. I wrote my last lab report of the term. In LaTeX, complete with diagrams and everything. That's what I did today. It's due tomorrow, I have 4 finals next week (2 lecture, 2 lab) and this lab report couldn't be done at any other time.

I wish I could have come. Ah well. C'est La Vie as the french say.

Ah hell AW, we just need to set up another date for sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and Rail again

. I too have finals, but not that much. Damn dude i feel your pain. I'm sure we can get RB to hook us up again soon *wink wink*

I was fun. All though, now i can hardly move my wrist LOL. Im out of shape for this intense game play . Need to practice some. *Rocky theme starts* hehehe

The Quake2World team is now working on faithful high-res remakes of the original Quake2 deathmatch levels. You can get a sense for what they will look like by checking out the Screenshots section.
