Alright, we've half-heartedly pulled chains about getting together in person at least a half dozen times throughout the years. The time has come. Let's pick a date and a location to have a 2-3 day (long weekend or something?) gathering in '07. I don't care where. I just know that there are easily a dozen people from here I would absolutely love to meet. Someone throw out the first spot.

Heh, every year is busy for me.

That and I'm on the west coast, where as most of you are east of me. Except Rivendell, he's both.

I agree. I think we should pick a city and a hotel, and book a bunch of rooms together for, say, Memorial Day weekend (or whenever). Somewhere with good night life and some interesting stuff to see during the day. Middle of the country is fine by me -- I wouldn't want AW, Fuze, Drako and Willy to have to travel twice as far as the rest of us. Chicago, St Louis, Denver, ..whatever.

We should all get rooms at a Marriot Residence Inn at some central location. They have at least 5 network ports in every room so we could get a block of rooms next to each other and lan over the hotel network.

How about we post our current locations as this thread progresses? Then we can at least see where everyone is located and it might help finding a central meeting spot easier.

As for me right now I am in Shepherdstown, WV.

Mariot's are nice. I'm a bit partial to Denver. It's a beautiful city, and I even know it a little bit. It's also a bit more central for the west coast guys (4hr flight from Boston, 3 hours from LA).

New Bedford, MA.

I'm in Cedar Rapids, IA. If Iowa turns out to be a nice central location, I'd be more than happy to host the get-together. Plenty of room in the back yard for tents and a couple spare rooms in the house too...

Vancouver, BC. Next year? Well, in September, hopefully, I'll be moving back east (school).

Memorial Day. . . May right? To be honest, it probably won't happen for me then. I don't think there is a really convenient time. I'm going to have to work a lot from finals to Sept to support the move.

I'll just say Los Angeles. I'd be willing to fly out from LAX, LGB, or SNA. Most likely Long Beach. It's the closest and I have some flight attendent friends based there who refuse to find humor in the act of mid-flight flatulence.

I'll actually try to put together something with Google maps so we can have a pictorial view of where everyone is. It'll make finding a centralized location a bit easier (plus it's cool to see who you're closest to).

LOL,

Not quite filthy rich yet but working on it. Give me another 2 years. The junk I learned about websites from my days of playing with you guys did the trick. I was able to do very well in my local real estate market without much difficulty because not many realtors here had any idea of how to get their websites ranked high on google yahoo and msn.

When was the last time Jondster stopped in? Good god that was a long time ago... Seems like only yesterday. I thought my 56k modem was the shiznit on my ultra fast 233 with a 16mb video card.

I still spend most of my time on the computer but these days it's websites and e-mail with clients. my newest site is a mess at the moment but should be done withing the next two months, condosrehobothbeach.com I've gotten to the point where I just pay other people to build my sites for me although I still put in a good deal of input on how I want everything to function.

RB, What type of work are you doing these days?

I bought Steph an Alesis Electronic Drum kit for Christmas. She has always wanted to play drums. I'm going to pre-pay for a few lessons since I'm not much help with drums.

I'm getting myself a new amp (probably a Line 6 Spider III or Flextone) and also picking up a Yamaha amp (made for their electronic drums) for her Alesis kit. Might get a PA as well.

I want a new guitar but I may hold off since the previous items could hit a few grand depending on if I get the PA or not.

Should be a rockin' Christmas at our house.
